Hope you're all gearing up for a big weekend of summer shenanigans. Tonight Nana Banana will be throwing back the bourbon at Southpaw. Tomorrow it's off to sunny Allentown to fete a friend's impending nuptials. And Sunday we'll be kicking it Pool Party style. This full weekend of wackiness calls for some serious wardrobe decisions, and I wanted to run one idea by you.
I love the breeziness of the long vintage frock posted recently on The Sartorialist.
But I know myself (and my friends) and white is just asking for trouble. So I thought perhaps I could mimic the look with this long gauzy number posted on Garance Dore last year.
I think the floaty ease of these looks is perfect for summer, but I'm worried that the cut would only work on those of the long-and-lean variety. Still, I've scouted a few possibilities on eBay. Thoughts?

I feel like the more practical and flattering way to rock this look would be with a shorter dress. Here are a few that I found. I feel like a dress like this could be mad cute if styled the right way.
What new looks will you be trotting out this weekend? Any big plans?
