Online boutique of the week: Need Supply

I've been lazy about putting up my weekly spotlight on online boutiques, mainly because it depresses me that I won't be able to do much in the way of shopping for a long time. But I came across this shop recently that I can't not share.  Need Supply out of Richmond, Va., launched in 1996 stocking a large collection of vintage Levis and has since grown to include a well-edited selection of just-edgy-enough streetwear. The prices are low enough that you don't mind taking some of the trends for a test drive. Like, say, this crop top ($38):

Online boutique of the week: Modcloth

This season, I've been moving away from my single-minded obsession with dresses back into the land of skirts, shorts and tops. It's been nice to challenge myself to play with interesting combinations instead of going straight for the one-item answer everyday. However, I was just looking through Modcloth, and I've been squarely transported back into frock frenzy. They've definitely got an Anthropologie-esque eye with amazing prints and pieces that seem designed for road trip photo shoots and Parisian seaside jaunts. Even better, most of the dresses come in well under the $100 mark. Check it.

I'm guessing most of you have heard of Brit fashion clearing house ASOS before. But if you haven't, you need to check it. Like now. There's a huge sale going on with McQueen frocks for less than two-hundo on down to house-brand dresses for $30.  Here are a few of my favorites.

Online boutique of the week: Nasty Gal

We're back with another edition of Online Boutique of the Week, in which Nana Banana drags you down the financial blackhole that is interweb retail. Today's destination is Nasty Gal. The site started as a vintage clearinghouse back in the day but has since grown to include new pieces, a pretty rad blog, and monthly lookbooks so you can get an idea of what the clothes look like styled. If you live anywhere but New York, the vintage pieces may seem a little spendy (dresses climb past the $100 mark). But the newer clothing is budget friendly.  Here are a few of my favorite pieces.

Online boutique of the week: Girl Props

In our last installment of "online boutique of the week," we visited 80s Purple, an online Prince impersonator store. Now we turn our clicker finger in a similar direction, to Girl Props, which, as you can tell from the name, is your non-stop-shop for pre-op trannie accessories! Yay!

We kid, we kid. Girl Props is actually a mad-cheap emporium shilling kitschy sunglasses, necklaces, and earrings. What's not to love about a jewelry website with sections themed on "food" and "weapons"?!  Also, they have tiaras and cocks!

So, without further ado, I take you back to those sylvan days of blowing your allowance on novelty earrings at Claire's.

Also, I can't close the chapter on this website without showing the following accessories that I find to be at once revolting and hilarious. Just what might this statement necklace be stating? I'm one pack away from my very own electropharynx?
